A 5 pin rim cylinder offers a basic level of security and should only be used on low security applications such as internal doors or as a secondary lock, rim cylinders are often used to operated a surface mounted nightlatch.
For external door nightlatches, we recommend installing a British Standard rim cylinder. Not only will this give you the highest protection against a range of tampering methods, it also a requirement of many insurance policies.
